Mills James teams recognized with creative awards. But what do they really represent?

If you’re an Oscar-winning movie producer, you enjoy an ‘Oscar bump’ — a surge in box-office receipts once the Academy Award nominations are announced. At Mills James, we can’t say we’ve ever experienced that — there’s no sales bump when one of our projects receives a prestigious honor. So, what’s the real value of these awards?

When we win an award, clients gain even more confidence that their work is in the hands of a winning team. For our people who are on those winning teams, it’s a time to feel honored for work that's being recognized as exceptional. Awards are a sign that our people are doing something right; a valuable form of social proof that builds credibility and trust in the company and each other.

Here is a rundown of award-winning Mills James projects so far this year:

The 38th Season of the TELLY Awards has recognized MJ’s ‘Sports Marketing Sizzle Reel’ with a Silver Award. The video was produced as a demo reel promoting our capabilities for sports-oriented productions. A spot produced for Capital University won a Bronze Award in the Cinematography category. An opening video for Safelite Auto Glass won a bronze award, as did a web spot we produced for Portfolio Creative. With over 12,000 entries from all 50 states and five continents, the TELLYs recognize the best in video, broadcast and digital work from around the world.

The American Marketing Association of Columbus presented three Mills James projects with six Achievement in Marketing Awards. A point-of-sale video produced for Value City Furniture won a Gold Award and a Bronze Award. A commercial produced for Capital University received Bronze Awards in two categories. And a marketing collateral project, our Creative Kindling Toolkit, earned both Platinum and Bronze Awards.

We are honored to have our work recognized by these organizations. But at the end of the day, our greatest awards are the clients who use our services — who give us the opportunity to help them tell their stories. To them we send a big ‘thank you’ on behalf of our hard-working Mills James teams.
